Chronically homelessness is an ABAWD exemption that will be reviewed after work registration is met.

A person who has applied for unemployment benefits and/or receiving is exempt from work registration. This exemption will also count during the appeals process.

When client refuses to register for work with the worker the next step is the supervisor contacts the client and discusses work registration. If the client refuses with the supervisor the supervisor emails the SNAP mailbox at state office. Then SNAP PFR contacts the client. If the client still refuses to register the PFR will apply the appropriate disqualification.

A person employed 30 hours per week or has earnings equal to 30 hours X minimum wage meet the employment exemption from work registration. In this example the individual’s earnings are greater than 30 hours X minimum wage.
