Income Calculations: Child Support Calculator Overview

The Child Support Calculator Tool (CSCT) functions to reduce common, unearned income errors by simplifying navigation of the IMS KI1 Screen, and plotting the most recent four months of payment data to a traditional monthly calendar to aid in pattern identification.

Workers retain the ability to select manually which payments to include, how to calculate them, and are not restricted by the tool’s recommendations.  However, CSCT can analyze payment, payee, and pattern frequencies, determine which payments to include and exclude, calculate amounts, and generate a case note for workers to paste into FACS.

CSCT does not replace worker insight, workers will still need to evaluate recommendations to ensure they are accurate, and to document additional information used to make determinations, such as that obtained from the OBLI or CFRRPA screens.
