In 2011, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare Services (CWS) recognized a need to strengthen policy and practices related to cases with domestic violence and enhance intervention and safety strategies for adult victims, children, and batterers.
The first edition of the Domestic Violence Manual for Child Welfare Professionals was released in 2012 and a second was released in 2014. This third addition, linked here provides additional guidance for both Child Welfare and other DHS staff.
