SSI-DCP: UpdatedService Requests

SSI-DCP (Supplemental Security Income – Disabled Children’s Program) is a social service program funded by Title V Maternal Child Health Services Block Grant. Information contained in this Quest article pertains to those Title V funded services provided through OKDHS under the SSI-DCP as well as services provided through contracted partners.

Make sure the family has tried to obtain the requested service or equipment through Oklahoma Health Care Authority (SoonerCare) or EPSDT (Early, Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment). Encourage the family to ask their physician to contact the Oklahoma Health Care Authority regarding coverage for communication, general health – quality of life, and mobility items or services.

Respite

The Respite Voucher Program (Birth up to age 18 – child receives SSI) provides financial assistance in the form of vouchers to pay for respite care so the caregiver can take a break. It is not designed to pay for on-going childcare, therapy in the home, housekeeping, or home health services. Respite vouchers are only approved/issued 1x for every 90 days, if needed. HR&MS staff make the determination of eligibility for this Program and process the approval/denial for the application/ Award of this assistance is contingent upon available funds.
