The Simplified Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SSNAP) rules are used when ALL food benefit household members are included in:
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance; or
- TANF cash assistance and a companion State Supplemental Payment (SSP) case.
For SSNAP households as described in (1) above, the food benefit amount is determined according to the income used for the cash assistance benefit program.
SSNAP procedures do not apply when:
- No household member receives TANF cash assistance;
- All household members receive SSP;
- A household member is participating in the Work Supplementation Program; or
- Any household member is a disqualified food benefit household member as described in OAC 340:50-5-10.1.
Households that do not meet the SSNAP criteria as described in (2) above have the food benefit amount determined according to SNAP rules found in 340:50-7-22 and 7-29.
