Systems Help: PS2 Instructions – Section K (Postpartum Care)

The following are descriptions/ instructions of each Section K (Postpartum Care) field in IMS:

Tab: AUTH PP CARE
Field: Authorization Number.
PS-2 Field: K1
Instructions: Computer-assigned when authorization is entered. On new authorization, enter + to indicate authorization being added.

Field: Person Number.
PS-2 Field: K4
Instructions: Enter the appropriate person number from Section F for the person authorized for services.

NOTE: For authorizations created in FACS, select from the dropdown the household member about whom you want to collect eligibility determination information for postpartum care.

Field: Authorization Type.
PS-2 Field: K8
Instructions: MP = postpartum care

NOTE: This block must be entered when adding a new authorization.

For authorizations created using FACS, the system automatically assigns the authorization type based on the use of the Auth PP Care Tab being used to create the authorization.

Field: Provider Number.
PS-2 Field: K40
Instructions: Enter the DHS provider number(s) shown on MS-MA-5. For multiple providers, repeat K40 as many times as necessary.

NOTE: For multiple providers, press the INSERT key while your cursor is in this field. A scroll bar appears and you can enter another provider number. The provider number may be accessed through the IMS Provider Inquiry. From IMS, enter M(sp)PAI for instructions.

Field: Begin Date.
PS-2 Field: K45
Instructions: Enter the date (month, day and year) this authorization is intended to begin.

Field: Number of Months.
PS-2 Field: K46
Instructions: Enter number of months the client is authorized for postpartum care.

Field: End Date.
PS-2 Field: K47
Instructions: Computer will enter the ending date of this authorization using information from K45 and K46.
