SNAP: Fleeing Felons – Workers Responsibility

ITS 340:50-5-10.1.

What to do when a household member discloses that there is a felony warrant for their arrest.

  • Worker will ask questions to determine if the individual has taken actions to avoid being prosecuted or arrested, or is aware of law enforcement trying to activity seek the individual. Refer to article SNAP: Fleeing Felons.
  • Worker will then document in FACS case notes the information gathered from the individual.
  • Worker will email the SNAP mailbox with the information gathered.
  • Worker will continue the processing of the SNAP benefits, including the individual in the SNAP household.
  • SNAP Programs Field Representative will remove the person from the SNAP benefits if individual meets the fleeing felon status and document in FACS case notes of the actions taken.
