Bridges Out of Poverty defines poverty as the extent to which one does without resources. Resources are tools one uses to navigate their environment and survive it. The more resources you have the better equipped you are to be successful in your environment.

- Belief in divine purpose and guidance
- Integrity & Trust
- Being trustworthy, can act ethically without supervision
- Motivation & Persistence
- Energy, drive, planning
- Relationship/Role Models
- Access to people who consistently behave appropriately and are nurturing
- Knowledge of Hidden Rules
- Know unspoken cues and behaviors of different groups
