TANF: WORK – TANF Timesheets (TW-13)

The TW-13 verifies the actual total hours of client participation. Clients can receive $8 per day for each day they participate in a work activity 4 hours or less and $13 per day for the days they participate over 4 hours. (Policy 340:10-2-8(c)(2)).

Clients can also receive participation credit for scheduled participation hours missed due to holidays or excused absences for any unpaid approved TANF work activity. The Participant must be scheduled to participate in the work activity for the period of the absence to count.

Holidays – If there is a holiday during the month the client can only receive participation credit for the days the facility is actually closed due to the holiday. They receive 8 hours of participation credit and $13 for that day. There are 10 specific holidays allowed per year.
Allowed holidays include:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and the day after
  • Christmas Day and the day before or after

Excused Absence – Clients can also receive participation credit for an excused absence up to 16 hours per month for a total of 80 hours per year. They will receive either $8 or $13 dollars for the day depending on the actual hours of participation plus the hours that were excused. Excused absences can be for items such as illness of client or family member, doctor’s appointments, required court appearances, inclement weather or family crises (funeral).

The participation allowance is issued to the client on their Master Card in addition to the monthly TANF grant. The attendance information in entered on the computer through IMS on an ETPANEW screen.
