Clearing updates on worker authority sends the case information that you have saved directly to the PS2, by bypassing Case Status Monitoring. The information then can be viewed on the ‘G’ screens if there are edit errors, or ‘E’ screens if the update successfully processed.
**You would only clear updates on worker authority for cases that do not require supervisory review**
Caution! When you use “Clear Update on Worker Authority,” it will send all fields that have been modified since the case was opened through FACS. For instance, if you close a child care authorization and then save the case using “Clear Update on Worker Authority,” your closure will be sent to PS2 and will be processed.
Then, if during the same session of FACS, you make an income change and again save the case using “Clear Update on Worker Authority,” FACS will send your child care authorization closure again. However, the authorization is already closed (from the prior action) so you will receive an edit saying that the only valid action that can be taken on a closed authorization is “Reopen”. It is very important to “refresh” the case after you process an update when you need to take a subsequent action.
To clear updates on worker authority:
- On the FACS toolbar, click the “SAVE” icon.
- On the Verify Update dialogue box, click “Yes”
- Click the box beside “Clear Update on Worker Authority”
- Click ‘OK’
