This section is completed for each absent parent identified in the eligibility determination process. The worker should enter as much information that is known about the absent parent(s). Even if the absent parent is unknown, Blocks I1, I4, I13, I25, I26, and I61 must be entered. Also, Block I64 (absent parent legal status), must be entered for each child associated with the AP.
If the child was born out of wedlock and paternity not established, then information about the alleged father is entered.
If the child was born during a legal marriage or within nine months of a date of divorce, information about the legal father is entered. If the legal father is not the natural father, information about the alleged father is also entered in a separate Section I.
After initial entry, updates (changes) to information on file for an absent parent should be made when new information is available.
