SNAP: EO Screening Process

All applications upon receipt are screened to determine whether the household eligible for expedited services. The EO Screening Process flowchart is a series of Yes/No questions to assist you in determining eligibility for expedited services.

Once an application is received, you have to determine if it is an initial application.

If No – the application is considered NOT Expedited.

IF Yes – Review Application and Data Exchange and proceed to Resources.

Do declared liquid resources exceed $100?

If Yes – Proceed to Gross Income / Expenses

IF No – Proceed to Gross Income

Gross Income

Is gross income less than $150?

If Yes – Application is considered to be Expedited.

IF No – Proceed to Gross Income / Expenses

Gross Income / Expenses

Is gross income plus declared resources less than shelter and/or utility allowance?

If Yes – Application is considered to be Expedited

If No – Proceed to Migrant / Seasonal Farm Laborer

Migrant / Seasonal Farm Laborer

Is the client a migrant or seasonal farm laborer?

If No – the application is considered NOT Expedited.

IF Yes – Proceed to Destitute

Destitute

Do they meet the definition of destitute? 340:50-11-3(1)

If No – the application is considered not Expedited.

If Yes – Application is considered to be Expedited.
