FACS: How to Put a Case in Application Status

For “NEW” cases, a case number would be created and the case put in application status using the PS1B Transaction in IMS.
Refer to the following articles for creating new cases:

SNAP, Child Care Subsidy, TANF, Disability Medical Case for Adult, Disability Medical Case for Child, and “A” Case for Medical and Financial Assistance.

For existing cases, you would put the case in application status effective the date an application was submitted.

SNAP

On the Household Tab, Interview Notebook:

  • Add Payee to the SNAP benefit effective the Application Date.

On the SNAP Tab, Eligibility Notebook in FACS:

  • Section C – SNAP – Type Action Taken: APPLICATION (A)
  • Enter or re-send Application Source
  • App Date: Enter Date of Application

NOTE: For applications submitted on the 31st day, enter an application date of the 30th.

Child Care

On the Household Tab, Interview Notebook:

  • For Payee, enter either Income/Resources Are Considered or Income/Resources Are Not Considered, whichever is appropriate.

  • Action Taken: APPLICATION (A)
  • Enter or re-send Application Source
  • Request Date: Enter application date

**SAVE Case and Push Case Completely Through**

Medical / SSP

On the Household Tab, Interview Notebook:

  • Add the individual to the Medical Assistance – Title XIX Benefit effective the application date
  • (If applying for SSP, add individual to the Disabled – State Supplement; or Blind State Supplement to the Blind; or Aged State Supplement to Aged) (depending on the categorical relationship) effective the application date

  • Application Date: Enter application date
