FACS: How to Clear Edits in FACS

A PS2 Edit error will prevent your case from completely processing. You can check to see if you have PS2 edit errors in one of two ways.

  • After you have saved a case in FACS, you will see a dialog box asking if you want to check for PS2 edit errors. Click “yes” to see if you have any PS2 edit errors on the case. FACS will present you with a list of any PS2 edit errors.
    Do you want to check for edit errors now? Without your attention! This message will dissappear in 15 seconds and the save process will end. The edit error check will not be done. You should do the edit error check from the menu when you return. Yes button. No button.
  1. The first step to clear a PS2 edit error is to read the extended edit text. It is possible to read the extended edit text in both FACS and IMS. Refer to article, IMS: Finding and Identifying Edit Errors in IMS.
  2. Follow the instructions in the extended edit text to correct the errors. These instructions should direct you to the FACS Notebook/Tab where the fields can be found.

On occasion, the list of edits may contain ghost edits. These are edits that were in effect at some point in the past but have been “killed” and are no longer valid. After saving the case; you can check for which edits are real by clicking on the “View Edit Errors” icon located on the FACS toolbar.

If you have an edit that you are unable to clear, even after taking the appropriate steps, please submit a Remedy Ticket.
