RSDI – is an acronym for Retirement, Survivor’s and Disability Insurance paid by the Social Security Administration (SSA). It is usually known as Social Security benefits or Old Age, Survivor’s and Disability Insurance (OASDI). RSDI is primarily funded through payroll taxes (income withheld from paychecks), which are set at certain levels for most workers in the United States depending on income and other factors. RSDI benefits are paid to individuals who paid payroll taxes and have become disabled or reached retirement age or who are the spouse or child of a beneficiary.
