AFS Policy: Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) – is a benefit paid by the Social Security Administration to individuals who are disabled or 65 years of age or older with limited income and resources.  These individuals either did not pay any earnings or enough earnings into Social Security to receive a significant amount of Social Security benefits.
