Aged, Blind, Disabled (ABD): UpdatedCreating Cases

Each ABD related applicant must have their own medical case.

If the applicant is applying for State Supplemental Payment (SSP):

Create a “D” (disability) case for any applicant that has applied for SSI based on a disability or is already receiving SSI due to being determined “disabled” by the SSA.

Create an “A” (aged) case for any applicant that is age 65 and older.

Create a “B” (blind) case for any applicant that has applied for SSI based on blindness or is already receiving SSI due to being determined “blind” by the SSA.

If the applicant is applying for QMBP, SLMB, or QI-1, you can create an H case or an A, B, or D Case.

For applicants with a pending disability/blindness decision, the Medical Application Reason (D-60) block in the FACS Medical Financial Tab in the Eligibility Notebook must be coded as: SHORT TERM, TEFRA, OR STATE SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION (DISABILITY TO BE ESTABLISHED BY SSA).

If the applicant applied for medical via OKDHSLive!, the electronic signature is sufficient for the medical application. A paper signed FSS-1-B is not required.
