SNAP: UpdatedFDENY 59 Rules

With the concept of “On demand” interviewing, the client household may contact the agency after receiving the confirmation message screen or text at end of application after completing the application process on OKDHSLIVE. An OnDemand interview notice is automatically sent when an application is submitted through OKDHSLive notifying the household to contact the agency within 10 days. When a SNAP interview notice has been sent, and the client household has failed to complete an interview by the due date, then application will automatically be placed in FDeny 59 status.

You may encounter applications that are past the 30-day processing window and are considered delinquent.

Action Required: In such cases, where the application has exceeded the 30-day limit without any interview, the worker must proceed to deny the application if the above notice of interview requirements have been fulfilled. However, it’s important to note that the FDeny transaction in our system won’t accept a ‘59’ code for applications beyond the 30-day mark, as this code typically triggers a Notice of Missing Interview (NOMI) for applications within the 30-day window.

Solution for Beyond 30-Day Applications

For applications that exceeed the 30-day deadline without an interview:

  • The worker must deny the application in the system using reason code ’59’ and outcome the activity in Current as ‘Denied/Closed’.
  • Upon this action, the system will automatically issue a denial notice to the client.
  • In this specific scenario, a NOMI will not be dispatched, since the application is already beyond the 30-day timeframe.
