The following are timeframes connected with the processes within energy assistance.
Direct Payment Debit Mastercard
Clients that are issued an Oklahoma Debit MasterCard have 90 calendar days to activate the new card. See Direct Payment
Federal Fiscal Year
The energy assistance program is a federal program and follows the Federal Fiscal Year which is October 1- September 30.
Hearing Request
The client has 30 days from the date on the notice to request a hearing, the request must be in writing. 340:2-5-64 See LIHEAP Hearing Request
Preauthorization
Preauthorized households have 10 calendar days to report any errors listed on the notice. 340:20-1-14. See Preauthorization
Processing
340:65-3-5. Application process
The time limits for application processing are:
- 48 hours for ECAP (Energy Crisis Assistance Program) from the complete application, when all required verification is provided. 340:20-1-17.
- 18 hours for Life Threatening energy crisis from the time the household provides all required verification. 340:20-1-17.
- 60 calendar days from the application date for winter heating or summer cooling.
Refunds
Errors on an energy assistance benefit will only be reissued if reported within 30 days from the date on the notice of payment. If 30 days past, the refund will be requested and will not be reissued. See Refund Request
