The following instructions outline the process of when a child care household is certified, and co-payment is added in the 2nd month after a complete paycheck has been received.
Reba Shelton applied for child care for her son George Shelton on January 13th due to her new job, which she began on January 5th. A letter from the employer verified the amount for the first full check to be received January 24th. Earned income was calculated to be $1800 monthly. Household also receives $300 monthly child support. .
Complete all tabs in FACS necessary for a child care application before certifying the child care on the Child Care and Auth Daycare tabs. Code the earned income and child support in the Income tab.
On the Child Care tab in Eligibility Notebook:
- Action Taken: Opened
- Certification Date: Date Interview occurred and all verification provided
- Effective Date: Re-enter certification date
- Date of Last Review: Enter the first of the month
- Effective months – 01 is entered because the earned income is diverted for the first month until the next month
- Total Diverted Income – monthly anticipated income calculated
**SAVE THE CASE and PUSH CASE completely Through** You will enter the authorization when you make the final change action.
- Code a change action on the Child Care tab for next month effective date
- Effective months: Enter 99
- Delete the earned income in the total diverted income – change to $0
- Next enter the child care authorizations on the “Auth. Daycare” tab with the appropriate begin date
