Kinship – Kinship care for Child Welfare Services is commonly defined as “the full-time care, nurturing, and protection of a child by relatives, members of their Tribe or clan, godparents, stepparents, or other adults who have a family relationship to a child.” For TANF, family relations can be represented concretely (mother, brother, grandfather) or abstractly by degrees of relationship (kinship distance). Policy regarding this term is located at:
- SNAP:
- 340:50-5-5. Non-household members;
- 340:50-7-22. Income exclusions; and
- 340:50-7-29. Income inclusions.
- TANF:
- 340:10-3-40. Income disregards;
- 340:10-9-1. Relationship of payee to child; and
- 340:10-22-1. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Supported Permanency Program.
