OKDHS Live!: Mid-Certification Renewals

Mid-Certification Renewal

The term “Mid-Certification Renewal”, or “MCR” is use to describe benefits for which a renewal (but not a new application) is needed in order for those benefits to continue.

Recipient Notification

When a Human Services Center is included in the OKDHS Live! process the recipients in that service area will receive an “OKDHS Live! Renewal Notice” instead of a regular BR Notice.  The OKDHS Live! renewal notice is a one page notice that directs the recipient to the OKDHS Live! website.

The user may complete their renewal on OKDHS Live! any time after first deadline) of the month prior to the renewal month until 6:00 pm on first deadline of the renewal month.

Renewal Process

The recipient may use any internet connection to go to www.okdhslive.org to complete their renewal.  Individuals create their own user id and password to gain access to the OKDHS Live! website.  Information specific to the individual/case record must be entered in order to gain access to case information.  Only cases due for a renewal can be accessed via OKDHS Live!

If the SNAP section is due for a mid-certification renewal and any other section (Child Care or Medical) is in “BRR” status, OKDHS Live! will capture the information necessary to complete a renewal on that section.

Some SNAP renewals will meet the conditions for an auto-renewal and no further action will be required for those benefits.

Case Updates

If the SNAP section does not meet the conditions for an auto-renewal the SNAP BR Action (C35) will be updated to an “X” and SNAP BR Action date (C36) field will be updated to the OKDHS Live! action date to indicate that a mid- certification renewal was initiated through OKDHS Live!

If the SNAP section does meet the conditions for an auto-renewal the SNAP BR Action (C35) will be updated to an “C” and SNAP BR Action date (C36) field will be updated to the first day of the month to indicate that a mid-certification renewal was completed through OKDHS Live!  All income/expense fields will be updated based on the information entered through OKDHS Live!

Child Care and SoonerCare renewals will not be auto-updated.  If a Child Care or SoonerCare renewal is submitted through OKDHS Live the BR Action (D135/E135) will be updated to an “X” and the BR Action Date (D136/E136) to the OKDHS Live! action date.

Worker Assignment

OKDHS Live! uses the Enterprise Worker Association (EWA) database to determine how to assign renewals.

Worker Notification

Once a renewal has been submitted through OKDHS Live! the appropriate CWA report will be updated and a copy of the renewal report will be available through DiscImage.

Worker Action

Each Human Services Center will develop a procedure for processing renewals that best suits the needs of that office.  The OKDHS Live! Web Utility may be used to track the process of mid-certification renewals.

The OKDHS Live! screens in FACS may be used to view the information submitted during an OKDHS Live! renewal and to send that information to FACS for a case save.
