As you know, all child care recipients are required to meet a need factor for child care.  In the past, we approved for the employment need factor based on the hours the client was working.  Now, there will be a minimum employment hours requirement.

Work:

The client must be working 20 hours/week in order to qualify for child care subsidy.

Or

The client must be working an average of 80 hours/month in order to qualify for child care subsidy.

Example 1:

The client works the following schedule:

M – F, 1p – 5p = 20 hours week

   Eligible

Example 2:

Hourly rate = $10/hour

Hours per week = 15-20

17.5 average hours/week

   Not Eligible

Example 3:

The client turns in weekly pay stubs with the following hours:

Week 1 = 15 hours

Week 2 = 23 hours

Week 3 = 34 hours

Week 4 = 15 hours
