Using the PCI screen is the best method to verify childcare provider contract numbers. You can verify the contract number given by a client in IMS by using the PCI transaction.
To view this screen:
- Login to IMS
- Clear the screen
- Type PCI (space) and the contract number.
- Press ‘Enter’
This will bring up the PCI information screen for that contract number.
Here is an example for contract number 10001
You can also check to make sure that the contract is currently open and can be used to authorize care by referring to the ‘Contract Ending Date’. If it is showing a futuristic date (several years out), then the Child Care Facility can be used.
Some contract numbers – like Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP), Oklahoma Early Childhood Program (OECP), and Military facilities are not on the Child Care Locator. This is to ensure that families who do not qualify for the program are not approved under these contract numbers and incorrectly receive the weekly unit type and $0 copays. These are still open contract numbers which can be used to authorize care. You can read more information on EHS-CCP and OECP programs by clicking here.
Check the contract number provided by the client on PCI. The Child Care Locator is a good resource in assisting clients in locating possible care matches for their needs, but verification of the contract number should be done with the PCI screen.
