Needy caretaker – A relative (other than the natural or adoptive parent) meeting the specified degree of relationship applying for TANF for a child.
Eligible individual with ineligible spouse and dependent child – means a couple who meets the definition of eligible individual with ineligible spouse and has a child younger than 18 of the proper degree of relationship residing in the home full-time.
Degree of relationship – is a term used by the TANF program.
Caretaker relative – means a person other than the biological or adoptive parent with whom the child resides who meets the specified degree of relationship within the fifth degree of kinship.
